‘The one red leaf, the last of its clan,
That dances as often as dance it can,
Hanging so light, and hanging so high,
On the topmost twig that looks up at the sky.’
– Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772 – 1834) –
Red Acer Leaf photographed today in Hergest Croft Gardens, Herefordshire. The light was perfect and this fine quote feels as though it was written to accompany my photograph.
